Jazz Listings for Aug. 31-Sept. 6 – NYTimes.com

Ralph Peterson Fo’tet (Friday) During much of the 1990s, his busiest stretch as a bandleader, the incendiary hard-bop drummer Ralph Peterson had a steady outlet in the Fo’tet, distinguished by its blend of vibraphone, bass and clarinet. The new iteration of the band, recently introduced on the engaging album “The Duality Perspective” (Onyx), features musicians who all happen to be Mr. Peterson’s students at the Berklee College of Music: the clarinetist Felix Peikli, the vibraphonist Joseph Doubleday and the bassist Alexander L.J. Toth. From 8 to 11:30 p.m., Rue 57, 60 West 57th Street, (212) 307-5656, rue57.com; $5 cover, with a $15 minimum. (Chinen)
